Changing the World, One Wall at a Time is a documentary feature film on our Education Is Not A Crime project – one of the world’s largest street art and human rights campaigns, which raises awareness of education discrimination by Iran’s government against tens of thousands of Baha’is.

The film has been screened around the world and in Persian on Iran International – as well as winning the 2018 Passion for Freedom Art Prize. Changing the World, One Wall at a Time can also be screened in schools and universities with its message of education equity and creativity against injustice.

Maziar Bahari’s first film about the Baha’is looks at the history of the persecution of Iran’s Baha’i community and the creation in 1987 of the Baha’i Institute for Higher Education – an informal or “underground” university established by the Baha’is because Iran’s government bars them from the country’s universities.

Arash Azizi, the popular journalist and Iranian media personality, presents this film on the economist Iraj Abedian and the parallels between Iran’s persecution of the Baha’is today with the history of Apartheid in South Africa. Azizi travelled to South Africa to meet Abedian – who though Iranian has lived in South Africa for decades.
